Riki Naoe is the central character in the story of Little Busters! A high school student, he struggled with feelings of hopelessness and depression after the loss of his parents during childhood. Kyousuke Natsume, who had a younger sister named Rin, was the Little Busters' leader. The other members were two friends, Masato Inohara and Kengo Miyazawa, who were both Riki's rivals and companions. When they invited Riki to join them in their playtime adventures, he became their fifth member. Playing with them helped Riki overcome his grief and led to genuine enjoyment of life's simple pleasures. As the story begins, Riki, Kyousuke, and their friends are in their second and third years of high school, and they continue to spend time together and savor the joys of school.
