A manga adaptation of the Sword Art Online game, Sword Art Online Alicization Lycoris. Lycoris adapts the first half of the Alicization Arc, before diverging from canon with an original storyline starring an original character, Medina Orthinanos. The manga tells the story from the perspective of Eugeo.

Project Alicization, a top-secret government project run by Rath, a company affiliated with the Japan Self Defense Force (JSDF), was started to create the first highly adaptive, «Bottom-up AI». By using a 4th generation FullDive machine, called the Soul Translator (STL), Rath succeeded in copying the Fluctlights (souls) of twelve newborn babies, creating a «Soul Archetype», a non-developed Artificial Fluctlight that could be copied to create new Artificial Fluctlights, which would then need to be nurtured to mature into an individual. For this reason, a virtual world, codenamed «Underworld», was created using the free kernel version of the Cardinal System, The Seed, and then transferred into the STL mainframe via the Mnemonic Visuals feature of the STL. Underworld is set in a past era, when science and philosophy were just being discovered, but instead of recreating a past era, limited terrain and certain customs were introduced so that the inhabitants of the world would form their own society.
The story follows Karen Kohiruimaki, a 183-centimeter-tall (6-foot-tall) college student who's insecure about her height, and is bad at dealing with people in the real world. She enters the world of Gun Gale Online with her avatar, Ren, who is less than 150 centimeters (5 feet) tall and wears all pink. She meets a beautiful, brown-skinned female player who goes by Pitohui. They hit it off, but one day Pitohui pressures her to participate in "Squad Jam," a team battle royale variation of the Bullet of Bullets tournament.

A manga adaptation of the popular game, Hollow Realization takes place in the VRMMORPG game Sword Art: Origin and sees Kirito and friends traversing the land of Ainground, a rebuild of Aincrad, when they meet a mysterious NPC girl named Premiere who hasn’t been coded into the game. Vowing to protect her, they search to uncover the truth of her null coding while also contending with players who want to erase her existence from the game.
A full year has elapsed since the adventure in Sword Art Online concluded, followed by another ten months of peace after the incident in ALfheim Online. However, strange events have begun to occur once more, this time in the VRMMO game known as Gun Gale Online (GGO). Two players have been shot by an individual cloaked in a mantle who calls himself "Death Gun." Strangely, after their in-game deaths, these players disconnect from the game and are then found dead in reality days later. In light of these events, Kikuoka Seijirou from the VR Crimes Division contacts Kirigaya Kazuto to investigate a connection between the in-game and real-life deaths. It is discovered that Death Gun specifically targets the highest-ranked players, leading Kazuto to take action by transforming his ALfheim Online character into one suitable for Gun Gale Online, and enlisting in the prestigious Bullet of Bullets tournament to try and catch the mysterious killer.
From Baka-Tsuki: This series is a reboot of the SAO Aincrad Arc starting from a day or two before the clearing of the First Floor Boss, and continuing onwards. The first chapter was included in the Anime despite not being part of the main Light Novel series. Note: Please be advised that the side stories in this series have some changes from the original web versions of the Sword Art Online main story.
