Before the smash success of Azumanga Daioh, author Kiyohiko Azuma was a prolific gag manga artist. After the success of Azumanga Daioh, his Pioneer-commissioned gag manga were collected into the book "Azumanga - The Kiyohiko Azuma Anthology".
